Prayer Tuesday - prayer by Saint Francis

Starting from today I'll be posting prayers every Tuesday. Prayer is asking god for his guidance. Prayer is surrendering. Prayer is knowing that there is something more than what you can know with your five senses. Prayer is acknowledging the divine within you. Prayer is one of my favorite tools along with meditation and journaling. It opens my heart and prepares me for meditation. Meditation is listening to the guidance I requested for in my prayers. So, each Tuesday I'll be posting one of the prayers I love. Prayers from different religions and faiths. Prayers by saints and shamans. Hoping that it will open your heart to love and faith.

Today's prayer is a very well known prayer by Saint Francis. I love this prayer for its wisdom.

Now go, read the prayer slowly, feel it, allow it to guide you. In short, soak yourself up in the prayer.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seekto be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
